The Nike R9 Mercurial was the source of inspiration behind this Dunk Low Supreme from top to bottom. The Nike Mercurial R9 debuted in 1998 and was the signature soccer boot for Brazil’s Ronaldo and was the first Nike soccer boot to use Zoom Air cushioning. Like the Mercurial R9 these Dunks also feature Zoom Air along with a clear sole overlaying a graphic that depicts the bottom of the Mercurial R9. On the upper Nike went with color blocking, piped edges, and added stitching details to resemble the Mercurial R9 even more. These retail for $125. I'm picking mine up today.

I am a big fan of clean (no logos, one color) apparel. It makes for a more versatile wardrobe and differentiates you from the d-bags with the A&F logo all over the place.
I was checking the adidas site yesterday and found some fresh pieces. Check out the highlights after the jump.
On another note... I get to celebrate my birthday today as well as the 100th post on OTP. Who knew?

After much criticism, Lewis Hamilton redeemed himself at home in the English Grand Prix. The McLaren driver won the race under precarious situations due to heavy rain and a extremely wet track. He dominated the race since the beginning leaving behind BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld for more than a minute's distance.

Another driver to have a sensational race was Rubens Barrichello. After starting in the 16th position, the Brazilian gained 10 spots in the first lap. Then making the right choice by switching to heavy rain tires, the rain got worse and the Honda driver heroically finished with the 3rd position.

He had to sweat to do it though, a final score of 3/2 with partials: 6/4, 6/4, 6/7(5/7), 6/7 (8/10) e 9/7.
Federer lost in his own backyard, also breaking a streak of 65 straight wins on grass. However he is still ranked #1, but Nadal is much closer now. The match had to be interrupted due to heavy rain when the Spaniard was already ahead. After the break the Swiss seemed to have turned the match against his opponent when lost of concentration saw him lose grip of the situation and a tight battle til the end would see out the winner.
Bad year for Roger Federer, who hasn't won a single Grand Slam or Master yet.

Tabloid "News of the World" reports Rooney's seeing red. That's right! His golddigger wife(Sorry Wazza, but c'mon...) made him spend a fortune for the wedding... They estimate £ 100 per person. He spent £4,7 million for the last 12 months alone and apparenlty owes the bank £ 1,1 million. And he is also big on gambling so that might add to it since he was in Vegas last week. But I guess this year's salary will more than make up for it and he can always shoot commercials...
More after the jump...
Sloppy seconds for Cristiano? Apparently the same tabloid above spoke with a friend of Nereida's who said that Sergio Ramos slept with her before she started dating CR7. Also that the man is quite jealous... Does he still want to go to Madrid?? Man if that's true, it'd be awkward!!

In an interview with "Gazzetta Dello Sport", Dunga admited he is willing to give the new Juve forward a chance if he performs.
- If Amauri shows competitiveness at Juve, he'll have his chance. Maybe in November's friendly(against Portugal). If he wants to play for Brazil, he'll have to show the strength to wait.
Dunga rejected the idea of calling Amauri for the next WCQ games(against Chile and Bolivia in September). He mentioned that, at the moment, other forwards have priority in the fight for a spot up top.
- I certainly won't call him up for the next qualifier games. There is hierarchy in my attack passing through Adriano, Pato, Luis Fabiano and Fred.
Amauri certainly got game, and I think he'll waste a World Cup chance if he chooses to play for Brazil. Besides the names mentioned above, there is always the question of Ronaldo... It's never wise to bet against him, plus other players coming up. He is wanted by Italy and they really don't have anyone estabilished up front at the moment. Luca Toni has disappointed with his international form, Quagliarella and Di Natale aren't quite the World Class players the Italians would like to have... So I think that he can solidify a spot with the Azzuri. Like I said, the man is quality, just don't want it see it go to waste.

Not Ronaldinho, not Messi... The Free Kickmaster champion is Rafa Marquez, who won the $1 million prize. David James was the winning goalkeeper, snatching the $500 thousand prize. Around 50 thousand people showed up to witness the event at Reliant Stadium in Houston, which will be broadcast in 60 countries by Fox Sports International... Whatever that means, I just know I haven't seen it anywhere I can watch.
Another Mexican player who made it to the finals was Jared Borgetti, who plays at Monterrey.
More after the jump...
Ronnie and Messi went out in the semi-finals, but of course were the ones who drew the most excitement out of the fans.
David James displays his check.

Last week Steve Nash and Claudio Reyna hosted a celebrity 6v6 exhibition game in Chinatown in NY.
The purpose was to raise funds and awareness to their respective charities.
Both NBA and world-class soccer players attended.
Thierry Henry, Baron Davis, Jozy Altidore, etc...
Would've been cool to watch.
