Rumors: Henry to United ??!!
England's tabloid, The Daily Star, has reported that Sir Alex Ferguson is weighing up a shock £15m swoop to sign Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
"Ferguson is interested in another forward after after being blocked so far in his attempts to sign Dimitar Berbatov, and ex-Arsenal star Henry is one of those near the top of his list. Ferguson believes the Barcelona forward could do a similar job to Berbatov, leading the line at Old Trafford in a role which would release Wayne Rooney from his shackles."
"Though new (Barcelona) boss Pep Guardiola has indicated he wants Henry, 30, to stay, the fact Samuel Eto’o is still at the club means the Frenchman could be available."

So word is a club from Uzbekistan, Kuruvchi, has offered Sammy Eto'o 40 million euros to play the remainder of their season(started in March, ends in November) in order to promote the beautiful game in the country.
The thing is, he is considering the offer, after all no other player makes that much, especially to play little more than half a season. Then he could be on his way to another big Euro club 40 million euros richer. But it's so.. random... And where will they get all that money from? Government?

Email this postRonaldinho's Milan Interview
R10's (?) 1st interview after arriving in Milan. He speaks on how happy he is to be there, etc... It sounds really practiced and he is careful not to offend anyone and thus he ends up not saying much at all.
It's a 2 page interview that can be summarized in one sentence:
He's really happy to be at AC Milan and he hasn't made any major decisions yet.
"I'm very happy to be able to play with KakĆ”, I consider him one of the best in the world. He's also a great friend. Here at Milan I have a lot of friends and I don't think there will be any problems in my adjustment. I have played many times with KakĆ” in the national team winning important things as well."
What shirt number will you get?
"We haven't made a decision about that yet, I will tell you when it's been decided."

Email this postRoy Keane on club loyalty
There's been alot of talk recently about cub loyalty and how a player should be loyal to it. (Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga comes to mind) But what about the opposite side...how loyal should a club be to a player? Keane speaks on it...
"Keane, who left Manchester United after being seemingly forced out after giving an interview to MUTV (in which he crushed a few of his teammates and might have gone after Sir Alex’s number 2, Carlos Queiroz) back in 2005, said: “When a club is finished with you, they get rid. My advice is look after yourself. If you get a chance for bigger and better things, then go for it. I’ve experienced that myself. People question players’ loyalty. I question clubs’ loyalty. It’s a business to them.”
He went on to say, “If you’re not needed then you can be out of the door in ten minutes, and I’m speaking from experience. Clubs buy and sell players. Clubs sell players sometimes like a piece of meat.”

Email this postYeah Boy!
Ronaldinho was presented by AC Milan in front of 40 thousand people today.
They sold over 5 thousand season tickets in one day... Insane! The man hasn't even played a game and is already doing his job. As you can tell by the pictures, the smile is back and that means his game will be back as well.
And talking about on the pitch, Ancelotti has confessed playing a christmas tree formation with Ronnie and Kaka playing right behind the striker, most likely Pato with Inzaghi coming in when the going gets tough.
It seems that he'll be wearing the number 11 left by Gilardino as Milan doesn't make their players give up their numbers while active. Wonder what will happen to his 10R line.
More pix after the jump including the presentation video at the end...

The deal was sealed at € 21 million plus a possible € 4 in case AC Milan makes it to the Champions League with his help. Now Ronnie's participation in the Olympics is questioned since Kaka wasn't released by the club. But it's possible that he has asked to take part in the Games as part of his contract.
Wonder what number he'll be wearing... Seedorf is 10.. His brand is 10R... Someone will have to make a sacrifice and Ronnie already accepted not getting his %15 signing bonus.

Email this postBin Laden's Family To Purchase Newcastle?
7/8/08
They already wear prison uniforms... They have Joey Barton... Often compared to American Football team Oakland Raiders... But Bin Laden??? Really???
A wealthy construction company run by the family of terrorist Osama bin Laden has emerged as a shock front-runner to buy Newcastle United, a source with links to the club claimed last night.
The Saudi Binladen Group, whose chief executive is Osama's half-brother, Bakr bin Laden, and which was founded by their father, Sheikh Mohammed bin Laden, is said to be considering a £300millionplus deal to buy the club and then carry out a lucrative redevelopment of St James' Park and land surrounding the ground.
More after the jump....
Although the Bin Laden family publicly distanced itself from the founder of Al-Qaeda years before he claimed responsibility for the September 11 atrocities in 2001, any takeover would be football's most controversial yet, as well as taking the number of foreign-owned teams in the Premier League to 10, or half of England's biggest clubs.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has been dogged by rumours, always denied, that he wishes to sell the club ever since his takeover just over a year ago.
However, last night a private investment company from America, InterMedia Partners, confirmed reports that they had been approached by a third party about buying the club.
Despite Newcastle describing reports that Ashley had quoted them a price of £420m as 'absolute nonsense', the Americans' statement said: 'InterMedia was approached about a deal, made no offer and has no interest.'
But the most astonishing development is the suggestion that a firm connected to the world's most wanted terrorist could be interested in buying the club.
Although the offices of SBG in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, were open yesterday, there was no one in authority available to comment on the speculation.
Last night a spokesman for Ashley would say only: 'No comment.'
Osama bin Laden made his fortune after inheriting shares in SBG when his father died in 1967 but the revocation of his Saudi citizenship in 1994 means he has since, in theory, been unable to access any assets in the country.
The stigma of the name would be an embarrassment to the Premier League.
But a large multinational company like SBG would pass the 'fit and proper person' test which last year waved through Manchester City owner, Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, despite allegations of human rights violations while he was Prime Minister of Thailand.
Representatives of the company are believed to have been in Newcastle in recent weeks for preliminary talks and to examine in detail the site's potential for transformation into a huge retail, leisure and luxury accommodation development.
In April last year, just weeks before selling his shares to Ashley, then Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd unveiled blueprints for a £300m revamp of St James' Park, which included raising the capacity by 8,000 to 60,000, plus luxury flats, a hotel and a conference centre.
But SBG's plans are even more ambitious and, because of complications related to the location of the metro station which serves the ground, even include the possibility of knocking down the iconic stadium and building a new one on the outskirts of the city.
The report of SBG's interest is a stunning end to a typically dramatic week at the club, with midfielder Joey Barton receiving a suspended jail sentence for assaulting former Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo and the confusion over links with Inter- Media and the alleged £420m price tag.
But at a more realistic price around the £300m-mark, SBG is understood not to be alone in being attracted by the prospect of combining the kudos of owning a Premier League club with a major property play.
Preliminary interest from Indian billionaire Kumar Mangalam Birla is said to have cooled, but the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority are still thought to be in the running.
In charge of the Abu Dhabi ruling family's massive oil wealth, ADIA is the richest investment fund in the world with assets worth hundreds of billions of pounds under management, including a stake in New York's famous Chrysler Building - by strange coincidence the location of InterMedia's head office.
Ashley is said to have had the chance to walk away with a £30m profit within weeks of his purchase when a Far East consortium came knocking.
At the turn of the year, it is understood that his brokers, Kaupthing, mentioned while discussing other business with representatives of Dubai International Capital, that a minority stake in Newcastle might be available.
DIC politely declined, not because they wanted to own the whole club, but because the only team they are interested in buying is Liverpool.

Like the Mercurial R9 these Dunks also feature Zoom Air along with a clear sole overlaying a graphic that depicts the bottom of the Mercurial R9. After much criticism, Lewis Hamilton redeemed himself at home in the English Grand Prix. The McLaren driver won the race under precarious situations due to heavy rain and a extremely wet track. He dominated the race since the beginning leaving behind BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld for more than a minute's distance.
More after the jump...
Another driver to have a sensational race was Rubens Barrichello. After starting in the 16th position, the Brazilian gained 10 spots in the first lap. Then making the right choice by switching to heavy rain tires, the rain got worse and the Honda driver heroically finished with the 3rd position.

Email this postNadal breaks Federer's Wimbledon 5 year Streak
7/6/08
He had to sweat to do it though, a final score of 3/2 with partials: 6/4, 6/4, 6/7(5/7), 6/7 (8/10) e 9/7.
Federer lost in his own backyard, also breaking a streak of 65 straight wins on grass. However he is still ranked #1, but Nadal is much closer now. The match had to be interrupted due to heavy rain when the Spaniard was already ahead. After the break the Swiss seemed to have turned the match against his opponent when lost of concentration saw him lose grip of the situation and a tight battle til the end would see out the winner.
Bad year for Roger Federer, who hasn't won a single Grand Slam or Master yet.

Tabloid "News of the World" reports Rooney's seeing red. That's right! His golddigger wife(Sorry Wazza, but c'mon...) made him spend a fortune for the wedding... They estimate £ 100 per person. But I guess this year's salary will more than make up for it and he can always shoot commercials...

Email this postAmauri to get a chance with Brazil?
In an interview with "Gazzetta Dello Sport", Dunga admited he is willing to give the new Juve forward a chance if he performs.
- If Amauri shows competitiveness at Juve, he'll have his chance. Maybe in November's friendly(against Portugal). If he wants to play for Brazil, he'll have to show the strength to wait.
Dunga rejected the idea of calling Amauri for the next WCQ games(against Chile and Bolivia in September). He mentioned that, at the moment, other forwards have priority in the fight for a spot up top.
- I certainly won't call him up for the next qualifier games. There is hierarchy in my attack passing through Adriano, Pato, Luis Fabiano and Fred.
Amauri certainly got game, and I think he'll waste a World Cup chance if he chooses to play for Brazil. Besides the names mentioned above, there is always the question of Ronaldo... It's never wise to bet against him, plus other players coming up. He is wanted by Italy and they really don't have anyone estabilished up front at the moment. Luca Toni has disappointed with his international form, Quagliarella and Di Natale aren't quite the World Class players the Italians would like to have... So I think that he can solidify a spot with the Azzuri. Like I said, the man is quality, just don't want it see it go to waste.
